I started volunteering for Look Good Feel Better from American Cancer Society. It’s a program for cancer fighters/survivors to learn about the facial products, wigs and head wraps. It was a full class of 15 people today. They were about late 20s to late 50 and both during and post chemo. I was talking to a woman during the break and she told me that she was diagnosed cancer just last week. I was speechless for seconds but I tried to be helpful instead of telling her my sympathies. She thanked me for being there to help out. It was the most intense moment I ever felt in awhile.
ルックグッド フィールベター という アメリカン キャンサーソサエティーのプログラムに ボランティアすることになりました。ガンの患者さんがキモ治療中、髪の毛はもちろん、全身の毛の脱毛、肌が繊細になっている人達様に、どーやって工夫してまだ女性として 自信がもてるか まなべるプログラムです。体の一部をこれから失う人、失った人がグループになって集まり、経験をシェアーして助け合う所でもあります。私はそこで一人の女性にこう言われました。”ボランティアにきてくれてありがとう。私は先週 乳ガンと知らされて、家族がこのプログラムに入れてくれたんです” どうりで、クラスの中でパニックしてたのがわかりました。ショックで数秒なにも言えなかったのですが、私が知っている限りの事を教えてあげて、皆が助け合える場所だから 大丈夫と言ってあげる事ができました。
久しぶりにインテンスな一日をすごしました。これからもがんばります！
