I'm getting ready to go to NYC! IHadCancer (the company I partnered for the campaign) is flying me out to take photograph of 4 people. I'm packing all the underwater gear in 2 cases just like the Seattle trip. I'm really nervous because this trip is going to be the toughest challenge I'll ever face in my life. 1. I'm photographing my friend Vicky who has been a great supporter for this project. I want to offer a complimentary underwater portrait session. 2. CEO of IHadCancer, Mailet Lopez is a breast cancer survivor. She wanted to create the community for cancer survivors, fighters and supporters connect. 3. Her friend, Brian is my first male survivor and he is flying in from Maine for this photo shoot. 4. Another friend of IHadCancer, Emily is going blind after multiple cancer treatments and a tumor on her optic nerve. She is only 25 years old. Everybody is important to me and I'll do my best work on each person. I'm SO nervous and excited to meet them specially, Emily. Organizing Seattle cancer survivor photo shoot!!

So far, I've done photographing 4 survivors from the Bay Area. I'm waiting for one more male survivor, then Bay Area is complete!! You can check out the testimonial page to see their beautiful images and their underwater experience. I loved meeting and working with all of them and it was a precious experience to see their faces glow :) They made my day. Now, I'm getting ready for 2 survivors in Seattle on the 26th. Due to my tight budget, Lindsay from Portland is meeting me and Lori in Seattle to do the photo shoot. I'm heading over there on the 25th to meet the pool owner. Butterfly totem　蝶に伝わった私のエネジー

I hope you had a great July 4th weekend! I was at Bass Lake during the day with bunch of friends. I haven't been there since the last August. We cut the traffic with motorcycle and got to the place pretty quick! We hiked for 2 miles going through some tree tunnels and got to the water finally! We jumped in with our inflatable tubes and floats. (so cute to see big kids who ride Harley) The water was so warm but my underwater camera was not really good for the muggy water :( When we were hanging out floating, a butterfly landed on my leg, suddenly. It was rare to see it on me and I was told to search for the butterfly totem and I did when I got home. I was shocked to read what it was. The butterfly symbolizes a personal transformation, changes in your life. This is exactly what I want and going through to make it happen right now. I'm launching a fundraising campaign called Underwater Healer, About Face. About Face means to change the attitudes, views and turn things around 180 degrees. It's for the cancer survivors but also for myself. I'm looking to change something big! Underwater Healer Project – About Face

I had a fantastic underwater portrait session for underwater healer project this weekend. I'm launching a fundraising campaign in July 10th! Details coming soon! Bernadette Leno flew down from Vancouver, Canada on Friday night. We contacted each other only one week ahead to plan everything and fortunately, everything worked out!! I was so excited to meet her and curious to find out who she was because she had never been to SF and met me before! She must be an awesome gal and she was! I felt so happy to meet her! She was only here for 36 hours and I hope she enjoyed her portrait session and stay in SF. She did such an amazing job in the water yesterday. It was about 100F in Walnut creek (thank you, Dina, Adam, Cassi, Juni and Tagboat!) and we forgot to put a sunscreen until we finished the session...... She got some farmer's tan as a souvenir. The best morning therapy

I go swimming about twice a week. I like the quietness and the emptiness in the early morning. I brought my underwater iPod the other day. I discovered the music helped a lot to keep the steady rhythm of my strokes and kicks. I was amazed how smoothly I was swimming and breathing. At the end of the hour, I decided to float on the surface and listen to the music. It was the perfect way to cool down and to relax before I get out the water. I had the best morning ever! I actually use my iPod for my clients. They all love it! Look Good Feel Better

I started volunteering for Look Good Feel Better from American Cancer Society. It's a program for cancer fighters/survivors to learn about the facial products, wigs and head wraps. It was a full class of 15 people today. They were about late 20s to late 50 and both during and post chemo. I was talking to a woman during the break and she told me that she was diagnosed cancer just last week. I was speechless for seconds but I tried to be helpful instead of telling her my sympathies. Scuba diving is my meditation

I was in Key West for my birthday trip last week. None of my friends knew about this place so I was really excited to explore by myself. It was 85-90 degrees. People there both locals and visitors were incredibly friendly and natural. They were relaxed. I had 2 days of scuba trips and I loved every minute of it. It's been 6 months since the Maui trip and I truly think being by the ocean and scuba diving are my meditation tools. I believe everybody needs vacation, escape and space for your healthy mind and body. I came home refreshed! But I miss it...
