Jared - Army Veteran
Army Veteran
My name is Jared Lemon. I was born in salt lake city, Utah but I grew up in Anchorage, Alaska. I’m 37 years old.
I’m an army veteran, serviced in the 82nd Airborne Infantry. When I serviced in Afghanistan in 2010, lost my right dominant arm. I have Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD and scars with shrapnel still in my body. I’m injured and dealing with a lot but I’m still alive and capable of greatness. I’m a member of Dive Warriors The organization helps disabled veterans cope PTSD, physical disabilities and chronic pains through scuba diving. Scuba diving helps me and I realized water is more powerful then given credit for. Water is my equalizer and I love it.
Water is therapeutic.
The day of the photo shoot, I was thinking it was going to be a fun day in the pool. I didn’t realize It was more work than I thought it would be but it was a good experience.
Erena was very relaxing and wasn’t pushy, she is easy to work with. I was tired after we finished and slept on the way home.
This was an experience and fun!
I would recommend if it moves you.
His wife, Bridgette said,
“By looking at him from outside the pool, Jared seemed like enjoying it and he really likes the final result of the images. To him, water means peace and tranquility. Also underwater is the only place he doesn’t feel the chronic phantom limb pain. Dive Warriors means a lot to him as it has given him so much peace and stability in his life.”
