I’m Clara. I’m 19.

I was born in Florence, Italy… and that’s where I grew up!

I’m an artist and an entrepreneur.
I use art to share my voice and my story with the world.

I had a perinatal stroke in my mom’s womb. It affected my brain and my body. The doctors said I would be a vegetable. I can’t speak, read, or write… and I have trouble moving one side. But I understand English, Italian, and Portuguese!

What inspired you to be involved in the Underwater Transformation Project?

I love being in the water.
I love doing photoshoots.
And with the Underwater Transformation Project, I can share my story—and maybe inspire someone else to be brave too.

What were your goals for the photo shoot?

My goals were simple:
Have fun, get some cool pictures to show off…
and maybe make a new friend.
And yes—I did all of that!

How was the experience with an underwater portrait session?

I loved it!
It was hard to breathe and move underwater…
but I love being in the water, so it was super nice.
A really good experience.

How was your mood after you finished?

After we finished, I was happy, tired, and super curious to see how the photos turned out. It was a lot—but so worth it!

What does WATER mean to you?

Water means freedom to me. It reminds me of good memories, fun times…
and it helps my body move better, with less effort. In water, everything feels easier.

How did you sleep the night of the photo shoot?

I slept well. After being in the water, my body feels calm, and I can sleep really well.

How was Erena working with you?

It was all perfect.
I felt connected to Erena right away. She was super careful to understand my limitations and what I wanted to do. We worked together, and now—I’m happy I have a new friend.

Would you recommend underwater transformation to other survivors or anyone?

Yes, yes, and yes!
I would totally recommend it.
It’s fun, it’s powerful—and it makes you feel free.

What’s your dream?

My dream is to show the world that being different is beautiful.
To keep painting, keep creating…
and make people feel seen, just like I wanted to feel.
